Another sunday morning finds me sleepless. Today looks daunting - I've got to drive to Gurgaon to entertain a friend. The fact that this friend is a compulsive shopper doesnt help, with Gurgaon being prodigiously endowed the way it is with malls. I've got a long day ahead, and you bet you'll find me hopefully looking at my watch from time to time, waiting for the day to end.
Before I log off for the long day ahead, here's a "brief" one:
Is invention the mother of necessity? I’d have chewed on that had we been speaking about the iPod. I’d be willing to muse on that even for the number of accessories the iPod spawned, from silicon buds that fit nicely in your ears to itrips, that absolute necessity when you hit the road for a long haul.
But an iPod underwear is stretching it too far.
Play Underwear has launched the iboxer, its main selling point being it has a pocket in front for your iPod. Why anyone would conceivably want to tuck their ipod’s down there is beyond my grasp. Evidently Jeff Danzer, the founder of Play, has other ideas. To quote him, the product is “ideal for college kids who run around the dorm in their boxers, hanging out, chilling, doing nothing, and listening to iPods”. Visionary, what? And it the idea isn’t bad enough, the ad itself shows the product in an appalling shade of orange.
One can only hope Mr Danzer’s marketsize, if at all existent, is small. I’d scarcely want to see college kids running around in scanty underwear.
And that ghastly orange….ouch…we’d rather not discuss this anymore.
