Last week was disastrous for everyone who’s invested in the stock market. Leaving behind the tempting choice of dressing in sober, dark colors and having that tragic unshaven look, I’ve decided to make a weekend of it. We went to the Big Chill. The place unfailingly delivers what the gastric juices pine for. A fattoush salad, with some tangy Tomato and Basil soup, followed by some fettucini primavera , closed out by some molten chocolate with vanilla was what the doctor ordered to take your mind off marauding bears. (Let me hastily add before you call me a glutton - that was a menu for two).
Rum things, these bears. You don’t often think of bears in life. When a bear market happens, you want to forget about bears. As luck would have it, bears seem to run out at you from every nook and cranny. A friend called me to tell me about a joint called the Bear Camp in Shivpuri. I settled down to see a movie last night, and the character (Borat) purchases a bear to protect him from jews. Finally, a mail forward showing how John West get their packaged fish from the jaws of – you guessed right - a bear.
To take my mind off bears, I went in for my round of Google Reader – my aggregating software where all my reads for the weekend land up. The whole world seems to be doing nothing...there are no new blogs from the usual haunts I go to, nothing new from Fortune/Economist other than the bear markets gripping North America and Europe. And finally WHFoods advises on potassium rich foods. This, if you see the world like I do, is not terribly exciting stuff.
With nothing better to do, I’ve gone for a riot of colors for my blog, discarding the plaid minimalist designs I normally prefer. I might go back to that, but for now I want some splash of color. So bear with me. (Ouch...the “bear” again).
This too will pass.

So you were at the Big chill yesterday??? So was I. Umm although I had just gone there to pick up cake, but still.. quite co-incidental!
Hey Scribble - thanks. I'm on a time pass spree. I played the guitar all morning, till my fingers pained and I came out here. Now my eyes hurt, so I'm getting back to the guitar. On FB - yes, i'm just coming to grips with it. I will send you a formal invite once I have it done up to my satisfaction.
Mademoiselle: wonder you're all awake. Yes, I was at the Kailash Colony Big Chill with a colleague of mine. You must - absolutely must - have this item they call the baby molten chocolate. Its hot chocolate fudge with Vanilla. Its loaded with calories and saturated fats, but hell, we all need to indulge once in a while, right?
awake? Haha I'm at work. We are shooting tomorrow and I have a hell load of work to be done. And thought of killing some time on ze internet since my legs hurrttt from all the running around I have been doing since morning.
Okay enough cribbing. Will definitely try the cake.!
By the way, I love the Niagra falls picture. Awesome. Since, I didnt get a chance to visit it from the Canadian side.
Wow! I think I like my job all the more after this...I never ever work on weekends.
This molten chocolate stuff is available only Fri-Sunday so make sure you go then. It's basically similar to the stuff they serve in Diva (Diva somehow lacks that full taste) and Ego Obsession (Ego's is a bit too rich that you begin to feel guilty even while looking at it). This is the nice in between kind of stuff.
All the best for your shoot tomorrow.
... There are more Canada photos - Toronto's skyline is really pretty. I figure that Google has some Flickr kind of space added on now which allows people to stash away all their photos. All it occupies on the blog site is a simple link. I'm going to explore this further and upload my photos there. Will keep you posted.
My personal fave in all the sights I've seen in life is Sonamarg. There's one I've posted of it: that's kind of the last mile of the Kashmir valley before you hit the Zojila and enter Ladakh. Somehow the scenery there is so bewilderingly panoramic that no amount of photography can capture what the eye sees. I have spent hours at various vantage points on the Zojila shooting so I will post all of them, and maybe you can see what I see. Kashmir for me is like an annual pilgrimage.
Thanks for the cake tipoff.
Would await more pictures.
And I didn't even realise it was Saturday today. Ha!
